Balancing a structured corset bodice with a free-flowing gathered skirt, this formal gown blends old Hollywood glam with modern corsetry.
Process and Construction
Muslin Bodice and Skirt Drape
The structured bodice consists of 4 different layers: lining, interfacing, lining layer 2, and the sheer fabric.
The top layer, created from a sheer, sequenced evening wear fabric, features exposed boning channels, attached to the inside seams. Steel boning was then slid into the channels, giving structure to the garment.
